Absentee Voting & How to Request an Absentee Ballot

(Ballots available Tuesday, May 12)

Casting an absentee ballot is convenient and secure. 

Eliot voters wishing to obtain an absentee ballot and vote from home can order their ballots now by one of two options:

1. A Guide to Absentee Voting in Maine

   • Online Absentee Ballot Request
     Use this online service to request your absentee ballot electronically. The ballot will be sent to you via postal mail and must be returned to your municipal clerk by 8 pm on Election Day.
     Please note: This service is not available for local-only elections as it is a State program.

     • Uniformed Service and Overseas Voters (UOCAVA) - For information specific to:

       • Uniformed Service Voter:

       • Active duty military and their dependents (U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps)

       • Coast Guard

       • Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

       • The Merchant Marine

     • Overseas Voter:

       • U.S. citizens living outside of the United States who were qualified or would be qualified to vote in their place of residence in Maine prior to leaving the U.S.

   • Voter Rights

2. Call the Town Clerk's Office at 207-439-1817 to request an absentee ballot.

Please consider requesting and returning your ballots early!

Returning Your Voted Ballot

There are a few ways you are able to return your ballot:

1. By Mail: Eliot Town Clerk, 1333 State Road, Eliot, ME  03903.  Please return your ballot early enough to allow for postal mail delivery time. We are encouraging voters to return their ballots as soon as possible to assist us with early processing.

2. In Person: The Town Clerk's Office is at 1333 Main Road. The Office is open from Monday - Thursday:  
   8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Friday: Closed
